"Making The Video" of Marling's Shingle Delivery Video

Shingles and shingle deliveries are a focal point in the success of Marling Lumber Company. We, here at Marling, know that, and we get excited about roofing materials. We take pride in our delivery service and have formed excellent relationships with our roofing contractors and home owners who buy from us. We take so much pride in our shingle delivery service that we have made an attempt to bring you behind the scenes to show how how the whole process works from start to finish.

For the past week, we have been recording footage of the shingle delivery process. We recorded loading the shingles on the truck, strapping them down, the drive to the jobsite, and booming the shingles up to the roof. Our drivers, Jon Schroeder and Terry Streuly, were kind enough to let us record them in action. Dave Marling went out and recorded Terry Streuly loading and strapping down the truck. For those of you who know "TS," you know that there is never a dull moment. For those of you who don't know TS-- get to know him. He has definitely enjoyed watching himself on the internet since we've posted the video. He's famous.

Nick Kettle and Jon Schroeder went out on a shingle delivery and recorded the drive to the jobsite. You can get a first-person view of riding in one of our big, bumpy trucks. After the drive, the footage kept running at the jobsite. Jon flexed his ripped biceps and strong back, throwing all of the shingles himself while Nick stood in the driveway recording. Nick knows to leave the hard work to the professsionals, and Jon's definitely a pro.

As you will see, or have seen, in the video, it's raining. The aspect of our company that separates us from the rest of the industry is our customer service. If a roofer wants his or her material in the rain, we get wet. The rain also had a lot to do with the song selection for our video. "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC is the music on the video. We thought it was a very fitting for the video under the circumstances. It also brings a hilarious intensity to the video, especially with some of the slow motion shots.

Dave Marling did all of the editing for the video. He might be extremely busy with everything that's going on within the company, but he put in the extra hours to edit this video to, what we're going to call, a flawed perfection. It wouldn't be far off to say that he might have enjoyed this production a little too much... He played with the transitions, some slow motion, and the music.

We are really happy with the finished product. It was a lot of fun making it, and we plan on continuing to improve on the quality of our videos in the future. We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoy making it.

Welcome to Marling's Blog

Hello everyone.

I would just like to start by thanking you for reading the Marling Corporation blog. It is a very exciting time for Marling Corporation. We opened our new store in July, and it is doing very well. Window & Door Magazine just voted Marling the "Dealer of the Year" in the category of "Overall Excellence in Leadership Serving Professionals." We can already call our brand-new showroom, an award-winning showroom!

Awards and expansion aside, Marling can be found all over the Internet. You can now find us on Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/marlingcorporation), Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/business/dashboard/#/pages/Janesville-WI/Marling-Lumber-Homeworks/148947500911), Gazlo (http://www.gazlo.com/marketplace/janesville-milton-beloit/search/?q=marling), YouTube (videos will be posted soon), and at our website (http://www.marling.com/).

We will be posting brief updates on the company on Twitter and Facebook. We would love to see your name as a follower on Twitter or a fan on Facebook. Gazlo is an excellent source to find information on upcoming Marling events, information on our products, and meeting our staff. We are currently working on posting videos on YouTube. As of now, we have a couple commercials posted. If you search Marling Homeworks on YouTube, these commercials will come up. Our website will lead you to the different divisions of the company which will, like Gazlo, give you the opportunity to view some of our products, etc.

In addition the websites listed above, we obviously have a blog as well. This blog will allow us to participate in more personable communication with the readers. We will be filling you in periodically on how everything is going within the company. It will be a fun insight from a different perspective on the happenings at Marling.

Please feel free to give us feedback on any of the sites. Feedback is very easy on Facebook, Twitter, and on this blog. You can always email us as well at marlingcompany@yahoo.com. We appreciate any information you can give us about anything! Do you like the websites? Do you hate the websites? Is there something that you think we can improve on, or is there something you think we do particularly well? Nothing is off-limits. Your opinions will be heard, and they are always appreciated. The email, again, is marlingcompany@yahoo.com.

Thanks for reading, and we will talk to you soon!
